Emily Post for the digital generation.

Miscellany (Antipodean style)

A few miscellaneous points, before I get back into a regular routine of columns.

I’ve made it to Sydney, Australia, and wrote about half a GE column on the plane. It ended up being kind of stream-of-consciousness, so here’s all I’m prepared to show:

See, I was going to start this out as an article about geek etiquette while travelling, but now I can’t really think of much to say that’s geek-specific, or that’s travel-specific. You don’t need me to tell you this stuff: Don’t be an asshat. Drink lots of water. Wear sunscreen. And tell me if you ever find an airport that’s as gorgeous as Vancouver, with as good a sushi bar where you can sit and read email and LJ over WiFi for hours on end, because I am so going to go there.

Uh, yeah. There was also some stuff about the guy in front of me on the plane, who pushed his seat back and almost snapped the screen off my iBook, but that’s better left unposted, I think.

I’ve got a couple of articles lined up just waiting for this and that, but meanwhile I’d like to remind readers that you’re welcome to email me (skud@geeketiquette.com) with any etiquette questions you may have or topics you’d like me to cover.
