Moving domains
Since I’ve started blogging here more regularly in the last little while, and hope to keep doing so, I decided to mark the event with actually getting a domain just for Geek Etiquette.
Right now I’m in the middle of transitioning from http://geeketiquette.infotrope.net/ to http://geeketiquette.com/ . It’s a little bit fiddly and I more or less expect it to take a day or so to shake out. Please let me know if you have any problems at all. Make a comment here, or email me at skud@geeketiquette.com.
ETA: Done, I think, and it’s all looking pretty solid now. Let me know if I’m wrong.

The big “If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.” notice on each page still links to the old domain.
Will the RSS feed also be moving domains?
I ask because the LiveJournal syndicated account “geeketiquette” currently feeds from http://www.geeketiquette.infotrope.net/wp-rss2.php (in the old domain) and I was wondering whether I (or someone else) should submit a feed URL change request to support.
Though I see that this entry advertises the feed as http://geeketiquette.infotrope.net/feed/ , so should it at least be changed to that?
James: That’s my “What Would Seth Godin Do?” plugin; I’ve now reconfigured it to point to the new domain. Thanks for picking it up!
Philip: 1) You say “this entry” — what entry? 2) The RSS feed is moving along with the rest of the site, but there’s a redirect which should take care of LJ, meaning that no URL change should be necessary. I notice that the domain change did cause spammage all over my flist, though. Bah. 3) If you did want to submit a URL change request anyway, http://geeketiquette.com/feed/ is the current best URL.
Skud: *this* entry (Moving domains) was the one that had the “If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.” notice on it - both on the front page and, IIRC, on the individual entry page.
Er, it looked different last time I looked at it, though; did you change skins or am I imagining something?
Philip: Ah, it was the Seth Godin plugin then, which is now fixed. As for it looking different — WP keeps reverting my theme to the default. It’s very odd. *kicks it* I guess I should find a support forum or something and see whether anyone else has had the same problem.
Philip: I think I’ve fixed the theme-reversion problem. Let me know if you see it again. A problem with one of my plugins, it seems.
